Dr Aminossadati completed BEng in 1989, MEng in 1994 and PhD in 1999 in the field of Mechanical Engineering. He now puts his expertise to use as an educator and researcher in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering of the University of Queensland. He has more than 20 years of academic and industry experience and published more than 100 highly ranked Journal and conference papers. Peter Knights
Prof Peter Knights’ research interests are in: Mine maintenance management, Mine operations and process control, Mining simulation, Mining equipment automation. Peter Knights is BMA Chair and Professor and Head of the Division of Mining Engineering within the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering. From 1996 to 2004 he was employed as an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Engineering of the Catholic University of Chile, based in Santiago, Chile.

Shazia Sadiq
Professor Shazia Sadiq is currently working in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. She is part of the Data and Knowledge Engineering (DKE) research group and is involved in teaching and research in databases and information systems. Shazia holds a PhD from The University of Queensland in Information Systems and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand.
Jeremy Davies
Dr Jeremy Davies’ research interests are the modelling, analysis and improvement of complex business operations. His recent focus has been mining and maintenance operations, work undertaken whilst leading CSC’s (now DXC) Natural Resources Centre of Excellence.
Dr Davies’ career includes executive positions in design, analysis, materials engineering and new product introduction in automotive (20 yrs.), aerospace and defence (10 yrs.) as well as steel and mining industries (10 yrs.).
Jamal Rostami
Dr. Jamal Rostami started his graduate degree at Colorado School of Mines(CSM) in 1989 and received his MSc and PhD in mining engineering in 1992 and 1997 respectively. He joined the Pennsylvania State University (PSU), as Centennial Chair of Carrier Development in Mining at the department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. He has over 26 year of experience in design, management, research, and teaching in the field of mining, tunneling, and underground construction.
Sean Dessureault
Dr. Sean Dessureault is an Associate Professor in the Mining and Geological Engineering department at the University of Arizona. He received a B. Eng. in Mining Engineering from McGill University in Montreal Canada, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver Canada. Dr. Dessureault worked at mines in throughout Canada during his education while also engaging in part-time consulting. His appointment to the University of Arizona began in January of 2002.
