As Executive Director (Technical & Science), I lead the development of technical strategies, diagnostic methodologies, and data-driven solutions for mining operations. My role includes overseeing the Operational Performance Diagnostic, advancing the Continuum Physics System and Context Engine, supporting client engagements, and ensuring that technical innovations deliver practical improvements in throughput, energy efficiency, recovery, and overall operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Led the technical and scientific strategy of ContinuumOps, aligning advanced analytics, engineering principles, and physics-informed AI with mining operational objectives.

  • Directed the development of the Operational Performance Diagnostic methodology to identify constraints, performance gaps, and high-value improvement opportunities.

  • Oversaw the design and advancement of the Continuum Physics System and Context Engine for contextualising operational, geological, maintenance, and equipment data.

  • Collaborated with mining leaders, engineers, data specialists, and operational teams to develop practical mine-to-mill improvement strategies.

  • Guided client engagements from initial scoping and data-readiness assessment through diagnostics, business-case development, and implementation roadmaps.

  • Developed data-driven solutions to improve throughput, energy efficiency, recovery, equipment utilisation, and overall operational performance.

  • Established technical governance, analytical standards, and quality-assurance practices across projects and solution-development activities.

  • Led the integration of physics-based models, advanced analytics, machine learning, and operational expertise into decision-support solutions.

  • Translated complex technical findings into clear recommendations, executive insights, and measurable business-value opportunities.

  • Supported the evaluation and prioritisation of operational initiatives based on technical feasibility, financial impact, implementation risk, and strategic value.

  • Fostered collaboration between technical, commercial, and client-facing teams to ensure solutions addressed real operational challenges.

  • Provided technical leadership, mentoring, and subject-matter guidance to multidisciplinary teams involved in mining analytics and digital transformation.

  • Represented ContinuumOps in industry discussions, client presentations, workshops, webinars, and technical forums.

  • Promoted continuous innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, analytical methods, and engineering approaches relevant to mine-to-mill optimisation.
